Dum de dum de da...

Doing much, but nothing big. A whole lot of little, bitty, itsy things. Above is a special order I just finished...

Two nights ago, I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. No lights for me. I can do some things very easily in the dark. In the gloom, I noticed an upside down cup in my sink. Groggily, I picked it up and put it on the side of the sink, intending to figure out its purpose in the morning. *snore* Back to sleep.

A few hours later, I woke up and turned on the light. I got up to go into the bathroom again and saw a 5-in slug making its way across my carpet into my bathroom. I picked it up with a tissue and went out to the living room to show my husband. Hey! Look what was crawling INTO my bathroom! I should have been tipped off by his utter lack of surprise. He says, Are you sure it wasn't crawling OUT of your bathroom?

He'd found the slug in HIS bathroom (why? how?) and had given it to me. As a surprise. Because of the deep and abiding love he has for me. And the respect! Honor! Value! Hmph.

And there have been thunderstorms here in Bako. Beautiful, loud, majestic and just plain fun. The kind of thing that all the idjits in your neighborhood come outside at 4am to look at in their pj's just because it's so rare. I could hear laughing and oohing and aahing coming from other backyards. I heard a child cry and a mom call out "Wasn't that awesome?!" to turn around their fear. I took Kiff out of bed to come outside, but he just slept in my arms. Nature schmature.

School has started again for Taft College and the first real assignments were handed in last week. I revamped all the assignments and quizzes this semester to do two things: 1) fix the misunderstood areas that people KEEP MESSING UP ON and 2) change them so I can correct them much. more. easily. I get paid for two hours' work each week. Divide that pay by actual time? Eek.

I came home last night and Brian said, "go see Kiff's room." So I went. It's amazing how that kid thinks. He's using the monopoly money to make a race track. The car in front is called "Heather Feather." For me.

He's making crabby patties, too. He makes a stove of a piece of paper that has embroidery floss wrappers underneath (the batteries) and I forget what else. I took it out the next day. It's in the dishwasher now. :)
