Paralyzed From the Brain Down - April 3, 2020

Image
To say the past weeks have been weird is an understatement. I have been trying to work from home, but it's difficult. What's worse is that I'm home more, but am completely unable to paint! I'm paralyzed and I can't figure out what's wrong. My husband says all psychological problems are inherently fixable if you can articulate what the problem is. So when I can't articulate it, I feel worse, like it's only ME standing in the way of feeling better. If only I were smarter.
One fun thing is that my siblings and I are all talking more online. Yesterday we had the best conversation because one never-available-when-we-group-call sibling actually took part! Unfortunately, they also got mad when I took a (lot) screenshots. I touched up one of the screenshots to show how they should really feel about me.

I'm thinking of downloading some filters for my next meeting at work and looking like the potato lady I can't stop laughing at this picture.

And laugh…

Lunchtime at the Library

Image
It's been quiet here on the blog because I'm actually working in the evening and on my lunch breaks on THIS!

I have four different butterfly patterns that I've prototyped up. The folds work perfectly and all I have to do now is write out the patterns (for now they are on graph paper), photograph the plain paper butterflies and then try a little magic on them...

Butterflies in the Hopper

The butterfly patterns are coming along well! I've gotten five of them laid out and written up. Now I'm making up the prototypes (with colors and glitter!). After that, it's making up the patterns, taking pictures and putting the whole shebang together for the shop.

I ♥ Heart Art

One of the funniest things in our job descriptions at work is "Other duties as assigned." That can mean anything from catching dogs running through the library to what I did yesterday and today: helped moved a library.

Oh my aching everything! We kept joking that the director that scheduled a move in 109°F heat needs to be let go (she's retiring in a few months - ha ha!).  Anyway, the move was completed yesterday. Today I helped unload the boxes of books onto the shelves. Tomorrow I get to sleep in until 7am (5:30am the past 2 days) and I can't wait...

In other news, I painted a few days ago. Hearts! I am trying to get my photo printer to work (it's been stored on a shelf for 2 years) so I can make prints on watercolor paper... I think these would look lovely.
